Good Morning!!! Hope you're all doing well! It's been FREEEEEZING cold up here. Damp and Cold. The kind of dampness that just seeps right into your bones........gee, do I sound OLD??? I don't remember feeling the cold so much as I have in the past few years. Not the wind on my face, or at the tips of my fingers; its's in my knee! It's almost as if I can predict a cold spell with the incessant throbbing in my left knee. I really shouldn't complain. When I was 18 and 23 respectively, I had to have surgery on that knee and was told that there were probably more to come. I feel quite blessed to ALMOST have doubled that age without further complication. My Point? When it gets like this outside, it's a perfect reason to stay inside with a nice cup of Green Tea and Stamp!
And have I been stamping! With CHA fast approaching, I've been scrambling to get my projects completed and prescheduled so that there will be something to read while I'm away! With it being so darned cold here, the thought of some California Sunshine and Heat (yes to me even 60 degrees is balmy!) is extremely attractive! Coupled with the fact that I will get to hang out for a whole week with some of the coolest people I know and anticipating some arranged meetings with more internet friends that I have yet to lay eyes on (Kerry, Kim, Suzanne, Terri and maybe you?) If you're heading out there, drop me a line and I'd love to meet you! I'll be walking the show this year, finding time to dip my toes in the Pacific and I'm looking for someone to ride the Roller Coasters at Disney!
I'm very excited to meet Stephanie Barnard, the owner of The {Stamps}of Life. She has given me this wonderful opportunity to work with her stamps and I feel the need to hug the stuffing out of her.......now if I go by her picture, she doesn't have a lot of stuffing to hug and there will be a lot more "stuffingless" chickas at CHA.......yep, hugging and shrieking seems to be a staple behaviour, along with picture taking, smiling and food! There is nothing bad to be said about spending time with Girlfriends. I'll be in pure estrogen Heaven! Just wishing that some of my Best Girls from Ontario were coming along with me (yep, you all know who you are.......Western Ontarioites!!!). Anyway, as I was saying I am very excited to meet Stephanie.
These two cards are examples from the first two sets. I am very much enjoying working with Stephanies sets. As much as I LOVE to colour, I also love the convenience of creating clean and simple cards that don't require a lot of colouring. I like the clean and simple results that I get with her stamps!
I actually created the FRIENDS card using the Digital Brushes in the
Daisies4You set, which made this a super fast card to construct. Apart from laying it out, I only had to add some clear glitter to the word Friends and add a little brad to the flower.
I used the sentiment and small flowers from the Hello2You set in addition to the Balloon from the HappyBday2You set in the creation of the second card. Just a little colouring on the Balloon and some shading with Cool Grey 1 to the left of the letters to create some dimension, a tiny prima and voila, a cute card in a snap!
Well, I think I've babbled on a little too much this morning............probably because I don't have to rush into work .........so I best get movin' and stamping!
Happy Stamping!
